A 'textile machine comprises a creel 2 for suppling textile fibre sliver to processing means, the creel carrying bobbins 3 or sliver cans, processing means 1, e.g. a draw frame, and delivery means 8 for receiving sliver from the processing means 1 and placing it in a can 7' of appropriate dimensions, and is characterised in that the processing means 1 and the creel 2 are formed with a longitudinal passage 5, 6 adapted to be passed through by empty cans 7 supplying the delivery means 8. A conveyor belt 10 is preferably situated in the passage portion 6 for intermittent advance of the empty cans. A device 12 is provided in the passage portion 5 for the removal of a full can and the replacement with an empty can at the delivery means. The device 12 comprising three oscillating arms connected to a common bar 14, the bar 14 performing horizontal reciprocating movements to shift the cans. The arms oscillate vertically between the cans. More than one row of empty cans may be disposed in the passage 5, 6. In the event of the passage being empty of cans, an automatic safety device stops the machine and the can moving means. |
