A nonaqueous electrolytic solution which contains a ketone compound represented by the following general formula (I): (I) wherein R<1> and R<2> each represents linear or branched alkyl and R<3>, R<4>, R<5>, and R<6> each represents hydrogen or linear or branched alkyl, provided that R<1> and R<4> may be bonded to each other to form a cycloalkanone ring in cooperation with the propanone skeleton bonded to these, or at least two of the alkyl represented by R<2>, the alkyl represented by R<5>, a branch of the alkyl represented by R<1>, and a branch of the alkyl represented by R<4> may be bonded to each other to form a cycloalkane ring, or the alkyl represented by R<1> and the alkyl represented by R<2> may be bonded to each other and/or the alkyl represented by R<4> and the alkyl represented by R<5> may be bonded to each other to form a cycloalkane ring. The nonaqueous electrolytic solution is advantageously utilizable as a constituent material in the production of a lithium secondary battery excellent in cell characteristics and suitability for cycles.
