<p>A collapsible camera (10) includes a housing (30) having a base (31) and a cover unit (32) that is moveable relative to the base between a closed position and an open position, an imaging unit (11) within the housing for producing an image of an object, and a first optics (12) within the housing being optically coupled to the imaging unit when the cover unit is in the open position for focusing substantially on the base. A second optics (13) may also be disposed within the housing so as to optically coupled to the imaging unit when the cover unit is in the closed position for long distance focusing. A printer (18) within the housing operates in conjunction with a transport mechanism (23) and a processor (14) coupled to a memory (15) that stores data representative of a pixelated image produced by the imaging unit (11) or downloaded via a communication interface (16) for printing on material disposed on the base. The communication interface (16) is preferably a wireless interface such as a cellular telephone interface.</p> |
