<p>A data transmission method or the like preferably applied to transmission of data of various form through a bus line of, e.g., IEEE1394. Data of one sample is transmitted by using a plurality of slots of a data length of 32 bits. The data of one sample is transmitted, by using, e.g., 8 slots when the data of one sample is 128 bits divided 16 bits are arranged in each slot. The low-order 3 bits of label data constructed of the first 8 bits of the 32-bit data represent the ordinal number of the slot. The information on the number of data bits arranged in one slot belongs to ancillary data. The data of one sample can be easily transmitted even if the number of bits of the data of one sample exceeds the maximum number of bits that can be transmitted through one slot.</p> |
