The present disclosure relates to beverage brewing systems which are useful for preparing fresh brewed beverages from a beverage brewing device. In particular, the present invention relates a brewing system comprising a syst em controller (116) for directing the operation of a fluid reservoir (102), pum p (108), heater (110), a fluid direction mechanism (112), fluid insertion devices (114), and a user interface (160). Optionally, the system may provid e a fluid purification device. These system s are especially advantageous in t he preparation of brewed coffee beverages.
