The setting of a CPU (150) of a personal computer (PC) is carried out by a printer driver for controlling the printing by a color printer (20), and the CPU (150) acquires the printing condition stored in a RAM (151). The CPU (150) retrieves the preset printing condition and judges whether or not the automatic image quality adjustment by the printer driver is on. If the automatic image quality adjustment is judged to be on, the CPU (150) judges whether or not the image processing application being executed requests automatic image quality adjustment. If the automatic image quality adjustment is judged to be requested, the CPU (150) sends an instruction to turn off the on automatic image quality adjustment to the printer driver.
