PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing foreign materials capable of sufficiently carrying out removal of the foreign materials while maintaining operating efficiency without stopping a belt conveyor. SOLUTION: This apparatus for removing the foreign materials comprises a driving pulley 28b composed of a magnet in the apparatus for removing the foreign materials equipped with a belt conveyor 28 comprising an endless belt 28a stretched in an endless form over the driving pulley 28b and a driven pulley 28c arranged and separated at a prescribed interval and the magnet attracting the foreign materials mixed in the tea leaves flowing over the endless belt 28a and designed to rotate and drive the driving pulley 28b, rotate the endless belt 28a and attract the foreign materials with the magnet while transporting the tea leaves passing through a prescribed drying step from the starting end 28aa of the transporting surface of the endless belt 28a to the terminal end 28ab thereof.
