PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air diffuser eliminated in the clogging of a diffusion pipe or the delay of rising of diffused air due to the backflow of water or sludge into the diffusion pipe with a simple constitution, and to provide a water treatment system using the air diffuser. SOLUTION: In the air diffuser having a piping element which can cause air leakage interposed between the diffusion pipe 21 to be arranged underwater and its air feeding source, an elastic tube 214 having a plurality of notch holes 213 formed extending along the air blow-out width of a pipe 212 constituting the pipe 21 is mounted to the outside of the pipe 212.
