SLUDGE DRYING METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge drying equipment which is capable of continuously drying excess sludge and obtaining stable drying efficiency at an extremely low treatment cost. SOLUTION: The electric facilities in sewage treatment equipment are driven to aerate sewage with air and the organic matter of the sewage is decomposed by aerobic microorganisms. The excess sludge from the sewage treatment device is fed at a thickness from 2 cm to 10 cm to a plurality of conveyance containers 24 provided on a chain conveyor 18 in a main body case 11. While the filter sections at the bottoms of conveyance containers 24 filter and separate the moisture, the conveyance containers 24 are conveyed in an inclined state and the excess sludge is condensed by its own weight. The air in a machine room warmed by the remaining heat from the electric facilities is blasted through an exhaust duct 25 to the conveyance containers 24 to dry the excess sludge. The excess sludge is efficiently condensed and dewatered by the simple constitution. The heat quantity for drying is decreased by the decreased moisture and the treatment cost can be reduced.
