Dyeing/printing polyamides with anionic dyes - monocarboxylic acids

Synthetic polyamide fibres in which the recurring units contain a >=10C polymethylene chain or a dicyclohexylmethane chain, are dyed/printed fast deep and uniform shades with anionic dyestuffs in the presence of an aromatic mono- or bicyclic monocarboxylic acid, e.g. naphthalene-1-carboxylic acid or naphthalene-2-carboxylic acid. The anionic dyestuffs are pref. acid dyestuffs or 1:1-complexes of Cr and dyestuff carrying 1 or 2 sulphonic acid radicals or 1:2 complexes of metals and dyestuffs carrying 0,1 or 2 sulphonic acid radicals. Dyeing is effected at 80-140 pref. 95-130 degrees C for 30-60 mins. by the exhaust method.
