<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for decomposing contaminant and a method of decomposing contaminant using the same which unnecessitates the treatment by means of activated carbon and micro-organisms, efficiently decomposes the contaminant and, moreover, does not cause a problem of secondary contamination due to the use of a chlorine generating means (chlorine bomb or chlorine solution, i.e., functional water) and to provide an improved device and method for decomposing contaminant. SOLUTION: This device for decomposing contaminant and the method of decomposing contaminant using the same is provided with both of sunlight and an artificial light source which is disposed separately as a photoirradiation means in the case of decomposing the contaminant by subjecting a mixture of gas or aqueous solution including the contaminant and a gas or an aqueous solution including chlorine to photoirradiation and a means which automatically switches the sunlight to artificial light from the artificial light source.</p> |
