PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for controlling an addition amount of a reducing agent capable of adding a proper amount of the reducing agent, capable of enhancing a denitration ratio and capable of contracting installation cost or space. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the addition amount of the reducing agent is constituted so as to control the amount of the reducing agent (K) added to an exhaust system (3) using urea or ammonia as the reducing agent (K) and provided with a denitration catalyst (5) and has a sampling process for sampling the exhaust gas (GeA) at the outlet part of the denitration catalyst (5) as sample gas (Sga), a process for oxidizing ammonia contained in the collected sample gas (Sga) to nitrogen oxide, a process for measuring the content of nitrogen oxide of the sample gas (Sga) by a nitrogen oxide sensor (10) and a reducing agent addition amount control process for regulating the addition amount of the reducing agent (K) so as to aim at the minimum value of a characteristic curve of the addition amount of the reducing agent (K) and the content of nitrogen oxide in the sample gas (Sga). |
