PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building material which can treat waste efficiently and safely, and a method for producing the building material. SOLUTION: A core material 2 obtained by compressing waste is sealed airtightly in a building material body 3 made of stainless steel which has enough strength as a building material and is excellent in corrosion resistance.
