PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor provided with a structure for facilitating the work of safely puling out a catalyst. SOLUTION: This reactor for gas phase reaction is provided with an opening/ closing structure for which an opening is formed on the lower part of a center pipe or a cylinder with the opening is disposed, an inner cylinder receiving seat is disposed on the lower end part of the center pipe or the cylinder, an inner cylinder is inserted in contact with the inner side of the center pipe or the cylinder and installed on the inner cylinder receiving seat, the state of closing the opening is attained by the gravity of the inner cylinder and the state of opening the opening is attained by pushing the inner cylinder upwards. The center pipe for uniformly supplying a gaseous raw material in a radial direction or for gathering reaction product gas is vertically arranged on a center part and annular space for filling the catalyst is formed around it. Many heat transfer pipes in which a heat transfer medium for cooling or for heating flows are vertically arranged in the annular space and a means for gathering the reaction product gas or for uniformly supplying the gaseous raw material in the radial direction is provided on the center side of the annular space.
