PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for desalting coral particles containing salts in the pores as well as a desalting method. SOLUTION: This desalting device has a storing bag for coral particles C which cleans the coral particles C, housed in a vacuum tank T. Further, an evacuating pump P evacuates air from the vacuum pump T and an air ventilating means AM penetrates the inside and outside of the vacuum tank T to evacuate the air from the vacuum tank T when cleaning water W is injected into the tank T and together inject the air into the tank T when the water is drained therefrom. Finally, a water circulating means WM penetrates the inside and outside of the vacuum tank T and is freely opened and closed by means of a valve V2. Consequently, the content of salts sticking to the innermost end of pores of the coral particles can be easily dissolved and cleaned.
