PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend an available speech time in a reception job or the like by saving power in the holding state. SOLUTION: A thinning circuit 18 thins power feeding to a reception section 1 intermittently depending on a rising edge and a falling edge of a hold period signal generated by a man-machine I/F control section 7. Then power consumption in the holding state is reduced and when the holding function is used frequently, the power consumption is reduced. As a result, the speech available time is extended. Moreover, when the PHS is carried from a base station to another, since a control section 6 inhibits the thinning based on the reduction in a reception electric field strength, the power saving by thinning gives no hindrance to communication channel changeover in the case of handover. |
