PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for removing phosphor in water by which magnesium ammonium phosphate(MAP) particles of a proper grain size are generated, thereby flowing out of MAP together with treated water is eliminated and the removing rate of phosphor per device volume is not reuced. SOLUTION: The method of removing phosphor in water is characterized by adding a highmolecular flocculating agent and magnesium to a water to be treated containing phosphor under coexistence of ammonium ion and subjecting a mixture to precipitation separation in a MAP crystallizing bath while or after crystallizing the Map particles to which the highmolecular flocculating agents are adsorbed. Preferably the MAP crystallizing bath forms a MAP particle fluidized layer and the highmolecular flocculating agent is an organic high polymer having anion groups. Precipitation separation of the MAP particles can be executed in a precipitation bath different from the MAP crystallizing bath.
