PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure air supply apparatus capable of supplying a large quantity of high pressure air using a small-sized compressor and a reservoir tank in the narrow range of fluctuations in pressure and flow rate, and capable of stably performing hydrothermal reaction. SOLUTION: When high pressure air is supplied to a reactor 1 from a plurality of the reservoir tanks 2a and 2b respectively connected to a plurality of compressors 1a and 1b, the loading and unloading of the compressors 1a and 1b are changed by detecting the upper and lower limits of the pressures of the reservoir tanks 2a and 2b to reduce the range of fluctuations in the pressure and the supply amount of the high pressure air to perform hydrothermal reaction.
