摘要 PURPOSE: A method and device for manufacturing a liquid crystal display is provided to obtain a superior display performance by suppressing foreign matter adhered to an alignment film surface. CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing a liquid-crystal display comprises steps of cleaning the surface of a substrate before printing an alignment film(S101); printing the alignment film on the surface of the substrate(S102); burning the printed alignment film(S103); rubbing the surface of the burned alignment film(S104); cleaning the surface of the alignment film(S105); applying seal material around the substrate, to form a liquid crystal-charging space(S106); matching a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) substrate coated with the seal material and a color filter substrate and forming the liquid crystal-charging space(S107); injecting liquid crystal into the liquid crystal-charging space(S108); closing an injection port, to seal up liquid crystal in the charging space(S109); and lighting the assembled TFT-LCD panel to perform detection(S110). In the method comprising a step of performing the rubbing process on the alignment film formed on the substrate, surface potential of a rubbing roller for processing the alignment is controlled. The surface potential of the rubbing roller is controlled by bringing a charge control member into contact with the surface of the rubbing roller. The charge control member is covered with a material capable of being contact-charged to a polarity different from the potential of the substrate member surface.
