PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator, constituted by mounting a packaged piezoelectric oscillator and an electronic component constituting an oscillation circuit on the same face of a printed circuit board, capable of dispensing with it for adopting a constitution with the number of components being increased with a complicated work to fix a metallic cover to the upper face of a metallic cover for sealing the package body of the piezoelectric oscillator, and realizing sufficient electromagnetic shielding against the mounted components or wiring patterns, while shortening the height of the whole oscillator. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric oscillator 21 is provided with a printed circuit board 30, on whose upper face lands 31 are formed and in whose thick internal part wiring patterns 32 for connecting the lands are formed, a packaged piezoelectric oscillator 22 respectively mounted on the land on the printed circuit board, and an electronic component 28 constituting an oscillation circuit. The ratio of the area of a metallic cover 24 to the total area of eh total component mounting area of the piezoelectric oscillator and the electronic component and the wiring area of wiring patterns 31 and 32 is set, so as to be not less than 40%.
