PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a customer from forgetting to take an old bankbook or a new bankbook when the bankbook is full during registering of data and the new bankbook is issued. SOLUTION: The bankbook of which all pages are full is retreated to an old bankbook retreating part 10 as an old bankbook, subsequently, a new bankbook 32 is conveyed from a new bankbook storage part 3 to a printing part 5 through a new bankbook retreating part 9 and a registering of the data is subsequently carried out. When the registering is completed, the new bankbook is retreated to the new bankbook retreating part. Thereafter, the old bankbook is discharged from the old bankbook retreating part and the new bankbook is discharged from the new bankbook retreating part. The new bankbook is superposed on the old bankbook and tip ends thereof are aligned using sensors 14a, 14b. In this state, the two old and new bankbooks are hold tight by a conveying roller 6 and are discharged to an insertion/discharge port 2.
