PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that reads images on originals, while moving the original and eliminates the effect of a foreign material, such as dust on an image read result, even when the image reader copes with color image. SOLUTION: The image reader is composed of a read means 10, that has a plurality of pixel arrays each corresponding to a different spectral sensitivity, and a noise detection means 18 that compares density values of the read result by each pixel array, discriminates whether the read result includes an edge component in the original main scanning direction and detects a noise component included in the read result by the original read means 10. |
