PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To build an electronic still camera, where the problem with respect to transfer of image data at a synchronous position is solved and which has high cost performance optimal for inputting multimedia information (video/audio) to an information device. SOLUTION: The electronic still camera outputs image data as they are to an information device I/F for an image valid period, inserts and records an encoded vertical synchronizing code denoting vertical blanking period, an encoded status code denoting a status of the camera, a control code denoting a control command to the information device, and a code denoting a field number or a frame number for the vertical blanking period in addition to audio data, and inserts and record a horizontal synchronizing code denoting a horizontal blanking period, an encoded status code denoting the status of the camera, a control code denoting the control command to the information device and a code denoting a horizontal scanning line number for the horizontal blanking period in addition to audio data. |
