PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a component whose heat resistance is low from a high temperature by preventing the increase of the temperature of the inside part of a navigation device. SOLUTION: This navigation device arranged inside a casing 11, and equipped with a data reading part 14 for reading map data from a map data recording medium such as a CD-ROM is provided with a temperature detecting part 13 for detecting the temperature of the inside part of the casing 11 and a power source circuit 16 for a data reading part for supplying a power to the data reading part 14. The power supply from the power source circuit 16 for the data reading part to the data reading part 14 is controlled based on in-casing temperature T detected by the temperature detecting part 13. The operation of the data reading part 14 is gradually restricted based on the in-casing temperature T. |
