PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having function with which it can drive only the part of scanning electrodes continuous from an arbitrary scanning electrode to an arbitrary scanning electrode in the arbitrary time in one vertical period at the time of displaying video information only on the part of the scanning electrode continuous from the arbitrary scanning electrode to the arbitrary electrode in the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: This display device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel 14 on which scanning electrodes and signal electrodes are formed in a matrix shape, a scanning electrode driving circuit group 15 driving the scanning electrodes and a signal electrode driving circuit group 16 driving the signal electrodes and, at the time of displaying a video on the one part of the liquid crystal display panel 14, the scanning electrode driving circuit group 15 drives only scanning electrodes displaying the video and does not drive scanning electrodes other than the scanning electrodes displaying the video in one vertical period.
