PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dome type television camera whose field angle is adjustable that simplifies a turning mechanism for field angle adjustment, so as to decrease the number of components, facilitates installation for field angle adjustment without the need for removing a top cover and photographs an object, without deteriorating the sensitivity. SOLUTION: The television camera has a spherical enclosure that incorporates an optical lens, an image pickup element and a video signal processing circuit and also has a cylindrical enclosure that supports the spherical enclosure, so that the optical lens is directed freely in every direction, within nearly a semispherical plane. the spherical enclosure and the cylindrical enclosure are connected by one surface cable or more for transmission of a power supply, a video signal and a control signal.
