PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means that attaches a sender name or the like to transmission history data at transmission and attaches the recipient name to print history data at printing by authenticating a person by means of the fingerprint when the transmission and the printing are being carried out. SOLUTION: When an operator makes a transmission or print operation request to a facsimile terminal, the facsimile terminal 1 utilizes a display panel or the like to urge the operator to enter the fingerprint. The facsimile terminal scans the entered fingerprint data of the operator, converts the data into one- dimensional or two-dimensional image data, which are fed to an authentication discrimination section 4. The authentication discrimination section 4 collates the entered fingerprint data with person authentication data registered, in advance, that is, with the data of fingerprint patterns, to identify the operator at present. When the result of collation determines that the fingerprint of the operator has been registered, the identified operator is assumed to conduct succeeding processing and a control instruction section 6 gives a proper instruction to the facsimile machine 1. |
