PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the difficulty in exactly simulating a load for each CCD image sensor from a dummy load, since the load is different for each kind or production lot, when a configuration for suppressing the fluctuation of a power supply voltage by providing the dummy load is adopted. SOLUTION: When starting driving the CCD image sensor, by operating clock signalsϕ1 andϕ2 for transfer of a low frequency in comparison with a frequency required for image reading first, the fluctuation of the power supply voltage is suppressed. Then, the frequencies of the clock signalsϕ1 andϕ2 for transfer is switched to the frequency required for image reading before the start of output of an optical black pixel signal from the CCD image sensor prior to a prescribed period and image reading operation is started.
