The device for binding flowers, particularly roses, with thread (3) to form bunches, involves a positioning device for vertical suspension and adjacent positioning of a predetermined number of blooms in at least one single fork unit (1) with two pins. A thread supply device has thread wound on it and a curved needle (4) is moved around the bunch during binding, having a thread connecting component in its point. A thread engagement device (9) takes hold of the end of the thread emerging from the needle for forming a knot after the needle has been passed around the bunch. It engages a new thread end coming via the needle from the thread delivery device after the quantity of flowers has been bunched.
