PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable waveguide type optical head and an optical address system, to which the miniaturization and the weight reduction are contrived. SOLUTION: As to the waveguide type optical head, a laser beam source LD and a slab waveguide path laminated so that a core layer 32 is held between two upper/lower clad layers 31, 34, are formed on the same substrate 35, and the outgoing beams of this laser beam source of the waveguide type optical head are inputted to the core layer 32 of the slab waveguide path, and the beams such that the mode field is expanded to the in-surface direction of the slab waveguide path, are emitted after the propagation. |
