<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric material having excellent energy conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: A thermoelectric material has a CdI2 analogous layer structure and is represented by a formula, Ax BC2-y (0<=x<=2, 0<=y<1), wherein an A site contains rare earth elements which contain Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, FE, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Rh, Pd, Ag, Cd, Hf, Ta, W, Re, Ir, Pt, Au, Sc, and Y and at least one element selected out of B, Al, Ga, In, Tl, Sn, Pb, Sb, and Bi, a B site contains at least one element selected from Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, Ir, and Sn, and a C site contains at least one element selected out of S, Se, and Te. A heat power generating device or a heat cooling device is formed by the use of the material.</p> |
