PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a series of processes from placement of a secondhand car on an auction market by a general user to settlement of a contract and delivery of the bid car to an operator by using an open network such as the Internet typically in an automobile auction field as a part of distribution of a secondhand car. SOLUTION: An auction server 23 is used in this automobile auction system based on a bidding method. In this auction system, secondhand car information provided by the general user 11 and fed from an agent 12 is registered in a host server system 21 by means of an agent computer terminal 13, and entry to the auction is carried out from an operator computer terminal 32 of the bidding operator 31 connected via the Internet line and a LAN 41.
