PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video device that can retrieve a desired video image in a short time. SOLUTION: A digest video scenario table generating section 104 generates a digest video image scenario to identify a frame to be included in a digest video image on the basis of video priority denoting an importance degree by each frame. The generating section 104 generates a digest video scenario by each program and a digest video image scenario table storage section 105 stores the scenario. When a user designates a plurality of programs to be reproduced, a multi-program scenario table generating section 110 combines corresponding digest video scenarios so as to be contained within a prescribed time and provides an output of the result to a video display control section 107. The video display control section 107 allows a video reproduction section 108 to reproduce the video image based on the received digest video scenario.
