PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proxy device capable of relieving a load of a network. SOLUTION: When reply data with the new contents is transferred from a proxy 230 on the server side to a proxy 240 to the client side, the data is correlated with fingerprint calculated by applying a hush function to the data and registered in a finger print cache in both of the proxies 2. When reply data with the same fingerprint as the one registered in the fingerprint cache is transferred from the proxy 230 on the server side to the proxy 240 on the client side, the finger print is transferred as a substitute for the reply data and when the same fingerprint is not registered, however, the data to be transferred is compressed and expressed by using the fingerprint of reference data by defining other piece of registration data as the reference data, the compressed data is transferred. |
