PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of noise caused by the magnetostriction of a core of a deflecting current modulator built in a deflection unit. SOLUTION: A clamping means 210 for bringing vertical and horizontal cores 202a, 203a, 203c, 204a, 204c and bias magnets 205, 206 of a deflecting current modulator 20 into close contact in the arrayed direction of the cores is provided at a resin case 201 of the deflecting current modulator 20.
