PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk cartridge the strength of the case of which is enhanced. SOLUTION: In the disk cartridge provided with the case that is formed by joining an upper shell and a lower shell and contains a disk medium turnably in its inside, with an opening placed to the lower shell and used for accessing the disk medium, with a shutter member that is placed at the outside of the lower shell and opens/closes the opening and with a cover plate that is formed with the opening for accessing the disk medium and contains movably the shutter member with respect to the lower shell, the upper shell is formed nearly to be an arch so as to distribute force exerted to the upper shell to the circumferential edge of the upper shell.
