PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image communication unit that provides image and audio data or the like to a plurality of clients and to provide a communication system employing it. SOLUTION: The communication system includes a camera section 1 provided with an imaging device section 3 that picks up a surrounding image, an image processing section 4 that processes image data, a signal processing section 5 that converts the image data into transmission data, and a wireless processing section 6 that transmits the data, and includes a server section 2 provided with a wireless processing section 7 that receives the data, a signal processing section 8 that decodes the data, an internal proxy server 9 that controls connection to the camera section, a data storage section 10 that stores the data, and an external proxy server 11 that controls connection to an external computer network 12. A wireless mobile phone channel connects the camera section and the server section. The server section provides image and audio data or the like to a plurality of the clients via the computer network.
