The system for assembling polycarbonate panels (5, 8) of different thicknesses, e.g. of 10 or 16 mm or more, consists of a halfround post (1, 3) of Grade M5 pine 80 mm in diameter on each side of the joint between panels, and a seal (2) on one side. A gap of 10 mm is left between the edges of adjacent panels, with the posts held together by galvanised nails or long bolts (7) inserted through 10 mm holes (4).
