PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio player in which reduction in the service life of a battery caused by wasteful power consumption is suppressed. SOLUTION: The audio player is provided with a memory card 1, a reproducing circuit 2, a microcomputer 3, a DSP 4 (digital signal processor) and a headphone output terminal 7. During reproducing acoustic data, the microcomputer 3 carries out operations in which bit rate information is extracted from the acoustic data and supplies frequency control signals to the DSP 4 corresponding to the bit rate information every time the bit rate information is extracted. The DSP 4 carries out prescribed signal processes using the frequency corresponding to the frequency control signals supplied by the microcomputer 3. |
