PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance heater body superior in a uniform property and abrasion resistance, and strong for thermal shocks, wherein a heater life- time is elongated in highly reactive atmospheres (for example, an oxidizing atmosphere). SOLUTION: This is the resistance heater body composed of a carbonaceous material which is not substantially oxidized in high temperatures at least not less than 800 deg.C under poor oxygen conditions, and in which the electric resistance value is not less than 1,600μΩ.cm at a room temperature (20 deg.C).
