摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving picture quality by compensating the change of the charging ratio of a thin film transistor in accordance with the change of the frequency which is applied from the outside and its driving method. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with a timing controller 12 to which the control signal transferred from a host system is inputted, a frequency detecting part 30 which is connected to either the input stage or the output stage of the timing controller 12 and which detects the transferred control signal, a compensation voltage setting part 32 for setting a compensation voltage for compensating a driving voltage in order to secure the optimum charging time of the thin film transistor corresponding to the control signal detected in the frequency detecting part and a digital/digital converter 34 which generates the compensation voltage set by the compensation voltage setting part and transfers it to a liquid crystal display panel 22.
