PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information filtering system that efficiently realizes accurate information filtering on the basis of both contents attributes and different users' evaluated values to the contents. SOLUTION: This information filtering system is provided with a storing part 30 provided with data of evaluated values showing the evaluation of a user to each of contents and attribute data being data representing the contents of each of the contents by preliminarily recording the data of evaluated values and the attribute data, an attribute compressing and converting part 22 for calculating compressed attribute data obtained by removing parts that do not affect evaluation from the attribute data of each of the contents on the basis of the attribute data and evaluated value of each of contents, an evaluation characteristic calculating part 23 for calculating user evaluation characteristic data showing the characteristic of evaluation shown by each user and contents evaluation characteristic data on the basis of information of both the compressed attribute data and the evaluated value, and an evaluation predicting part 24 for predicting and calculating evaluation given to each of the contents by each user on the basis of the user evaluation characteristic data and the contents evaluation characteristic data.
