SOLUTION: In a variable speed controlling device that controls a variable speed system structured by connecting the primary side of a wire-wound induction machine 1, that is connected with a shaft to a motor 5 to a system via a main transformer 3 and a generator-side breaker 2, and the secondary side to a frequency converter 4, an element abnormality detecting means 21 is provided that outputs a stop signal for stopping the frequency converter, when it detects that an element of the frequency converter 4 is in thermally severe condition.</p> |
