PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a hard disk drive at a substantially higher speed in the case of recording/reproducing TS streams of a plurality of channels to/from a hard disk at the same time. SOLUTION: In the case of recording/reproducing streams of a plurality of channels at the same time, streams of one channel are recorded or reproduced for a number N of consecutive times and streams of a succeeding channel are recorded or reproduced for a number N of consecutive times. Thus, streams of consecutive blocks of the same channel are recorded/reproduced onto/from the same tracks so as to avoid waste of a seek time thereby substantially reducing a data access required time.
