PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for smoothing a magnetic stripe whereby vibration is prevented from being generated during application of coating liquid, and variance in thickness of coated films is made small. SOLUTION: In a magnetic stripe smoothing method for smoothing a surface by bringing a smoothing flake made of a plastic material into contact with a coated article before being dried, where a coated part formed by applying the coating liquid and uncoated parts coexist on the same base material film, the smoothing flake has a cut provided on the surface to be brought into contact with the coated surface.
