PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of service life characteristic that concentration of electrical potential to a part of a catalyst layer is generated by the proton conductive high molecular electrolyte added to the catalyst in order to enlarge a reaction site and that the high molecular electrolyte is deteriorated and decomposed to lower the battery voltage characteristic. SOLUTION: Conductive carbon not carrying platinum is added to a current catalyst layer. Quantity of the conductive carbon not carrying a catalyst metal is set at 5-50 wt.% in relation to the conductive carbon carrying the catalyst metal. With this composition, concentration of electrical potential can be reduced, and a high molecular electrolyte type fuel cell having excellent service life characteristic can be obtained. |
