SEPARATOR FOR FUEL CELL, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND FUEL CELL USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and thin separator having high mechanical strength, high conductivity, high gas-tightness in relation to the fuel gas with appropriate wettability at a low cost to realize a compact fuel cell having high performance with a separator occupying the whole volume of the fuel cell. SOLUTION: This separator for a battery formed of a compound material including a carbon material, a binder and a zinc oxide whisker is manufactured through a process for obtaining the mixture by mixing the carbon material, the binder and the zinc oxide whisker and a process for obtaining the separator by shaping the described mixture.
