PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To individually modulate the velocity of a plurality of electron beams in a cathode-ray tube. SOLUTION: A first velocity modulation coil 9 is provided for generating the magnetic field H1 for exerting force F1 on electron beams I1 , and a second velocity modulation coil 10 is provided for generating the magnetic field H2 for exerting force F2 different from the force F1 , on electron beams I2 .
