PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium for recording and reproducing a spot smaller than a beam spot decided by the wavelength of a light source and an objective lens by arraying particulates on the surface of a recording medium substrate and making only the arrayed particulates couple with read light or write light optically. SOLUTION: This optical information recording medium is provided with a transparent substrate 1 for light to read or write information, the particulates 2 each corresponding to one piece of bit information are arrayed on the substrate and a distance between the substrate 1 and the particulates 2 is the wavelength of the light or shorter.
