<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly productive, reliable and durable surface mount surge absorbing element and its manufacturing method wherein a conductance for air feed and exhaust in a discharging space is reinforced. SOLUTION: The surface mount type surge absorbing element is constituted of a pair of discharging electrodes and a pair of terminal electrodes formed in both of front and rear faces of an electrode substrate, a conductive part having a notching concave part state wherein each of the electrodes formed on a counter side edge face of the substrate is electrically connected, and a cap substrate enclosed of a discharge gas and joined with the surface side of the substrate. Its manufacturing method is that numerous element patterns in which front and rear face side openings of the through hole formed on the substrate and in which a pair of the discharge electrodes and a pair of the terminal electrodes are taken as 1 element pattern are formed on both front and rear faces of the substrate, and an conductive thin film material is formed on an inner peripheral face of the through hole. Next, the cap substrate wherein numerous concave parts partitioning a discharge room at the substrate surface side are formed is joined and integrated under a vacuum cleanliness and the discharge gas atmosphere. Afterwards, a cutting line dividing the through hole cuts and divides the element by the every unit.</p> |
